Wildflower

Sumiko is a twelve year old girl who is a second generation Japanese-American. Her parents died when she was a little girl in a car accident which she was also involved in. she and her brother had to live with her uncle and his family on a flower farm. She had certain jobs on this farm as far as separating the flowers, changing the bath water, and making the rice for dinner. When the Japanese bombed Hawaii known as Pearl Harbor, the United States put the Japanese in different categories and they lived in different places. They had to leave their home involuntarily and be isolated with only their people.
